GIJ: Martin Thompson Ntem (MTN) And Some GIJ All Stars Record Song Ahead Of The Institute’s 60th Anniversary Celebration

The song is part of the Planning Committee of the GIJ @ 60 headed by Dr Lawrencia Agyepong to involve students in promoting GIJ and creating awareness about the anniversary.

This is also to give the platform to students to use their talents to support the school while they project themselves.

The Ghana Institute of Journalism was established on 16 October 1959 by Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of Ghana. Kwame Nkrumah had the vision to train a patriotic cadre corps of journalists to play an effective role in the emancipation of the African continent hence established the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

The school was formally called School of Journalism which was a department at the Accra Technical Institute now Accra Polytechnic. The school had Mr Richard McMillan who was then due for retirement as the Director of the British Information Services in Ghana as its first principal and journalism tutor.

Sixty Years on this Great Institute has seen drastic changes and has influenced the journalism and Public Relations spectrum.

Here is the list of musicians on the song BLAQ ORIGINATA, Eli Six30, Everlasting Tiki, Pico Shanti, M TN. Two terty, Eddypapsi, Armswriter and Joan.

This is MTN’S third work and second song for GIJ after he and his BlueBell team had worked on a dancehall song and a remix of the school’s anthem as part of their PR project.

The song will be used on all networks as Caller RingBack Tunes (CRBT)

Those two audios are currently accepted by Telcos as a CRBT
