Last month, after a virtual training for over 100 MTN Ghana staff, made up of Managers, Supervisors and Squad Leads, on Team Leadership, the feedback was marvellous.
Then came the bigger call to meet the MTN Ghana IT leadership face-to-face and lead a session on Enterprise Leadership in a Disrupted Environment.
Then I asked myself: what can I offer a team of IT leaders who are making tremendous strides and making MTN the leading network in Ghana? But hey, learning isn’t a destination; it’s a lifelong journey.
After weeks of preparation, the turnout was great and humbling.
Why am I sharing this? If MTN Ghana is focused and keeps training its staff to lead transformation and to innovate, then what is your organisation doing? What are you also doing as an individual?
The truth is, you are just one innovation away from being wiped out, but the good news is you are equally one innovation away from leading your industry.
That calls for kaizen! Continuous improvement, continuous training and capacity building, because even the company at the top is not safe.
One key takeaway that resonated deeply—shared simply by one of the managers—was that “hoping doesn’t lead to success.”
I agree; navigating complex landscapes requires clarity, deliberate action, and collective resilience.
I’m truly humbled by the open discussions, rich insights, and warm reception from the team. Thank you to MTN Ghana, The Bossmans and Akaditi for the opportunity.
